The Festival Is Opened. That is, the Virtual Festival site www.neunow.eu went live today. With nine days to go before the Live Festival itself opens in Vilnius, you can already find here 144 young artists and collectives, graduating or graduated this year, whose projects have been selected from all around Europe – a showcase of the new talent now emerging from art schools in every discipline.
On the evening of Wednesday 18 November, Lithuanian president Dalia Grybauskaitė will officially open the festival. From 19 November on, there will be four days of performances and exhibitions throughout Vilnius. 29 Participants have been selected to perform or show their work.
Imagine a new world

The European Commission is inviting all professional and amateur photographers, photography students and all other talents to submit their photographs to the “Imagine a new world” photo competition. It is open to anyone who is resident of an EU Member State or candidate country or of Iceland, Liechtenstein or Norway and who shares our passion for photography. This is an opportunity for you to express what creativity and innovation means to you.
The deadline to enter the competition is 31 August 2009.
Create the new EU organic products logo

The EU is looking for a fresh new logo for organic products. If you are a young artist or designer, enter the “Create the new EU organic logo” competition. Your logo could be on organic products in all 27 Member States, and the winner will receive 6,000 euro.
Deadline: 25 June.
The competition is organised by the European Commission.
NEU/NOW

We are inviting all members of ELIA and partner networks to nominate their graduating and freshly graduated student talent for the NEU/NOW Festival, an event that will first take place in virtual space and then live in Vilnius, Cultural Capital of Europe.
NEU/NOW is intended to become a yearly recurrent event that presents the best of the new generation emerging now from art schools around Europe, in all disciplines. Schools can nominate up to two students in each of the five discipline categories.
