I am currently writing a first draft of ELIA’s reaction on the Green paper Unlocking the potential of the Cultural and Creative Industries and would like to include some examples of incubator units/pépinières that support art students/graduates starting their own business. Normally these are initiated by art schools or in collaboration with art schools.

Can you help me? One paragraph is enough to start with. Thanks.

Neu/Now Festival 2010

16 February 2010

The 2010 NEU/NOW Festival will take place in Nantes, France, at the end of October. We want the best and most exciting graduating young artists from across Europe to be there. Therefore, we are pleased to invite ELIA members and members of partner networks to nominate their graduating talent. And since the live festival coincides with the ELIA Biennial Conference, drawing 400-500 participants, we also invite all Biennial participants to come and see !

The deadline is 1 June. You can also download the full call here.

See www.neunow.eu for projects at last year’s live and virtual festival, and click on the category NEU/NOW to read the live blogging from last year’s festival.

At last, we got the films from Languages through Lenses 2009 online. These 15 clips are the results of a short-film competition for students, organized by ELIA as part of the EU’s campaign to promote multilingualism. The premiss was that films had to be either one or three minutes long and understandable without words, or with as little words as possible. Languages through Lenses premiered at the PRIX EUROPA festival in Berlin, 17-24 October.

The call for the 2010 competition is at www.languages-lenses.eu; applications are due 1 March.
